Course Reserves

Information about physical course reserves on the Seguin campus

OVERVIEW

Faculty and staff can put items on reserve for their students. This allows everyone in the class to use the same resources. Reserves are located behind the main desk in the library--ask anyone at the desk if you want to check out a reserve or if you would like to place an item on reserve.

FACULTY AND STAFF INFO

You can place anything on reserve:

  • library books/movies
  • personal books/movies
  • games
  • old tests/class notes

Items can be placed on:

  • Two-hour reserve: this is best for items you do not want to leave the library that students can scan, photocopy, read and take notes on, in a limited amount of time
  • One-day reserve: this is best for items that students need to use for longer times. This option allows the material on reserve to leave the library.

If you are placing a library-owned item on reserve, simply email me and let me know:

  1. What item you want on reserve
  2. What class the item is on reserve for
  3. How long you want the item on reserve
  4. Whether you'd like to place the item on a two-hour or one-day reserve

If you are placing your own item on reserve, please come into the library, give the person at the desk the item and write down:

  1. What class the item is on reserve for
  2. How long you want the item on reserve
  3. Whether you'd like to place the item on a two-hour or one-day reserve

STUDENT INFO

Students:

Did your teacher tell you to use an item that was on reserve at the library? Come on by! All the reserve items are organized behind the main desk. Simply tell the library worker on duty what you're looking for (everything is arranged by professor and then by class), then we'll scan your ID and check the item out to you. We'll let you know when you check it out how long you'll have with the item.

If you need to make copies, we can show you how to copy the material or scan and email it to yourself. Just ask!
